But since being introduced in the May 1939 issue #27 of Detective Comics, Batman has spawned a whole host of other toys and collectibles. The 120 episodes of the Batman TV series which aired on the American Broadcasting Corporation network from 12 January 1966 to 14 March 1968 really kicked the issuance of Batman and Robin paraphernalia into high gear.
