Dear Monster Friends, Boils and ghouls , and to whomever it may be a grave concern.. .

In light of the recent Dark Shadows debates, hysteria, and other such nonsense--- that I've grown weary of,-----
I'd like to share something that , to ME, is Dark Shadows . .
I'm sure many of you share the same sentiment toward the original comic books, and the like.
Here is a little gem I came across ( again) a few days ago,
as I have SOOOO many comic books & FMOF, Creepy mags, Eerie mags, etc.. that I have them stored in comic book boxes,
I like to dive in there like once a week, and pull out some selections to read througout the week.
so.as I was saying, I came across this one a few days ago. and it made me  ;D ;D ;D
I'd like to see other peoples ORIGINAL Dark Shadows comic books, mags, etc. .such great artwork.. this is the Feb. 1971 :)
I will post more, but I'm starting with this one.

Excellent!

are you saying I should post them in those 2 other threads, even though I'm talking about ONLY Dark Shadows related material?  & the other threads were just warren in general / and comics in general ( as far as i could tell anyways.. ) right?

Oh! No, then. If this is to be all Dark Shadows related, post all the material you have here. Just add

The Dark Shadows tribute thread!

to the title of this thread so that the subject matter of this thread is clear to all at a glance. "Would you care for any refreshments?" doesn't indicate Dark Shadows to those who've never watched the TV show.

Yeah, I used to watch the show, and I was still expecting this to be a recipe thread!

And, not only did I have that issue of FM, but I read it til it was in tatters! The cover eventually fell off. Really wish I'd kept that stuff in better condition, now.

sigh... well geez.. i cant win here . can i ? that does it.
im changin the stinkin title all together..  ;D ;D ;D

but YES. thank YOU!!!! this issue of FM freakin ROXXXX.. that is the point i was / and AM trying to make here., is that THISS is the sorta stuff I associate and think of when Dark Shadows is mentioned.  I wish that was the case for everyone, but sadly, now because of this Burton movie, alot of people will never have the priviledge of having a cool mag. like this and reading it till its in shreds, cuz its such awesome stuff..  Its an amazing issue. I LOVE IT ;D

As soon as I get a chance to find them, I'll post some pix of my Marilyn Ross "Dark Shadows" paperbacks, including the novelization of "House of Dark Shadows."

The only Dark Shadows related items to survive with me to this day are these four books:

At one time I had the puzzle with the painting of Barnabus and a woman in the catacombs, and I had the model kit. Neither survived the years, sadly...

I just started reading The Foe of Barnabas Collins last night! I have 3 or 4 of the Gold Key/Whitman DS comics with great painted covers around the tomb someplace.I'll dig em up and post some pics.
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

Ah yes, I have 3 FM issues with Dark Shadows covers, one Gold Key comic, and one Barnabas in a Funny Vein paperback.

Yesterday I met Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott, both very charming and lovely, at the monthly comic convention at Shrine Auditorium (and Julie Adams and Ann Robinson...some day this was!!).  I made sure to explain to them that I looooove Dark Shadows even though I was but a small tyke when the show was originally on TV.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

Cool paperbacks, Mike!

I've got a couple of newer books and an old comic book.  I'll get some pics, soon.

Never really understood why some stuff made it and some didn't. I have the vast majority of my Auroras, but the Witch and the Prisoner didn't survive, just her pot and bat and the broom. I was really careful with those. Three of the four figures from my Banana Splits model kit survived, where's Drooper? I guess I should just be happy with what made it this far with me.

Careful now...  posting a picture of a book that make jokes about Barnabas Collins could lead to a full scale riot around here.

Hmmm...has Barnabas or Dark Shadows ever been in Mad or Cracked?!

I found this while looking~

And this from the above site, "There was another DS parody published in the Elvira comic book series, written by my friend Richard Howell. I'm planning to write more about that soon."
