Karloff to Kiwi

O.K...I'm trying to turn this Karloffian/Strange head into a Kiwi Kingston head...and it's not going so great. I'm not a very good sculptor. If anyone has any tips for me on this, please let me know. I know that no one can magically teach me how to sculpt over the internet, but any ideas to make it look a bit better will be appreciated. It doesn't have to be perfect to meet my needs, and I don't expect it will be.

Doesn't look too bad as is.  Pics 1, 4 and 5 are really good.  Kind of loses it with pics 2 and 3.  IMHO the top os his head juts out far too much.  Needs to be sanded (dremeled) back a lot.  Also, might help a bit if you build up has cheekbones.  Don't forget to removed the electrodes!  This is just my opinion and hope others can jump in and give theirs.  Good Luck!

Yeah your right...and the slant on the head is really going in the wrong direction...I've done a lot more work on this..still got some to do..pictures are forthcoming.

That's downright outstanding, man! I'm not going to be doing anything quite that intricate.....as a matter of fact the head won't even be attached to a body in it's final display...but this still helps alot!

Well, I don't know if that's true...although I did re-think the way I was doing the head. It seems a little better. Every time I smoothed the lines on the boxy part to make it seem more "realistic", something got lost in the translation...so I'm leaving those edges sharp. I have some hair ordered for it...and I'm going to use some sculpt-a-mold to fill out the face as it has that sort of cottage cheesy look to it. I think I should make the mouth shorter, too. Anyway...still open to constructive criticism for those who wish to share it. And please tell me I'm the only one who sees the ever so slight resemblance to James Arness..

Hey SeptPre, your piece is evolving very nicely. I do like that makeup very much & I like your interpretation of it. (The head shape started out a bit Elephant Man but you're on track now.) I think it's already looking far better than that Distinctive Dummies sculpt.

Keep it going & please keep posting.
