S.L.U.G Zombies
« on: March 21, 2012, 04:25:40 PM »
I was at Toys-R-Us yesterday and I came across these little treasures: S.L.U.G (Scary Little Ugly Guys) Zombies from Jakks Pacific. They come in carded 3-packs for $3.99 or a coffin shaped 12-pack for $10.99. The zombies have names like Neil Armsgone, King Guts and Grave Lincoln, and these little boogers are detailed, detailed, detailed.

What really attracted me to them (other than being, you know, cool) was that they reminded me so much of the old Monster In My Pocket line of mini-figures which I collected when I was a kid.

Anyway, I just wanted everyone to be aware of these little guys. Really fun, nostalgic stuff.

That's a good question, Scatter. I don't think they are. At least they weren't glowing when I went to bed last night.

Here's a good article with some very good close-up pictures:

VERY detailed!! If they glow, they're perfect! Very "Monster-In-My-Pocket" reminiscent, as you said.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Apparently we have S.L.U.G Aliens and S.L.U.G Monsters to look forward to in the near future.

Awesome!

Andy,
I really want these things! I drove over to TRU today and couldn't find them. I asked a clerk and they had no clue (typical TRU worker). What section of the store were they in? I checked all around the action figure area (boys toys) and could not find them. The TRU's around here are stocked so horribly right now. I haven't seen an inventory change since Christmas ravaged them.
Let me know...

Cool!

I've been buying these guys at my local supermarket.   I'm one short of the set.

At my Toys-R-Us store I found the S.L.U.G Zombies in the same aisle as the Doctor Dreadful playsets. It's basically an aisle where the stuff they have no idea where else to put it goes.

So far the only place I've found them is Toys-R-Us.

Here's the lowdown on the Series #1:
If you want all of them you need to buy one of each 3-pack (4 total) and one 12-pack.
Each 3-pack features an exclusive figure not found in the 12-pack, and the 12-pack features four exclusive figures not found in the 3-packs. You will end up with doubles, but you'll get the whole set. Of course there will be special chase figures, but the basic set is covered with the above 5 purchases.
