The color catalog pages you saw were probably for the "Great coverup".  Who obtained some of the molds Pre DPS GCU connection.

I personally would like to see the "Werewolf"  not the Wolfman.    the Generic Werewolf with upper and lower teeth.  It resembles an Ellis Burman mask.

This masks puzzles me along with a handful of others I have.     I call this the SE Karloff and it's the only copy I've ever seen.   It's copyright 78 Universal.   Please ask Mr Curtis about this mask.

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

It is true that My pal, Doc Terror, has a mania for these masks. I think his input would be invaluable.

Dr.terror,
I can ask Charles theses questions for you no problem but, at this time I'm not able to
Share his private info.
Not sure how you want to be a part of this but, feel free to post or pm me your ideas.
We can see what we can do.

I love everyone's enthusiasm!  Lets keep this energy going for these masks!

Aright everyone.
We are planning on doing a bit of savage eye trivia to hold people over until we get things going on our end.
We will ask questions about the savage eye and the 1st person to get them correct will win a prize signed
By mr. Curtis.

Still thinking up prizes really but, Sunday the trivia will start.
And a few of the prizes we are considering are;

A signed and personalized repo savage eye catalog.
A % discount on your mask orders.
Or an original sketch signed by mr. Curtis.

Be on the lookout this Sunday for the trivia and updates on this project!

Thanks,
-j

Alright guys, another update for you.
1st Dr. Terror that frank mask you posted and asked about, Charles does not recognize it.

Now on with the masks!
We are going to have a set of the masks ready and to advertise them at the http://frightnightfilmfest.com/
Charles will most likely be there to hangout and chat with people and to showoff the start of the lineup.

He has also, given me 3 original catalogs (which I'll take some pics of and post up here for you soon.)

We are also, going to hold a trivia game here and a couple of sites for a chance to win a prize!
I'll post the trivia up here at 9pm tomorrow.  You will be asked 3 questions about the savage eye and the 1st 3 people
To answer correctly will win a couple of savage eye related products.

Any questions you have send them my way!

Thanks,
-j

Thanks Stoic, wow I'm surprised he doesn't recognize the mask.

I can scan my catalog.   I believe it's the 76 catalog.  The first year they got the Universal license.

Stoic I would just like to be able to get an autogrpah.  When he was at Mask Fest a few years ago, he left before a friend of mine could get it.     And will the Frankenstein be the same Frank he had at Mask Fest?  I've flown the SE flag for years over at the HMA and here and hope an autograph isn't only available to a contest winner.

I have Charles 1st catalog the little 6x4 with the order forms in the back,
The brown texture pressed catalog with satyr on the front and
A single sheet folded 78 prevue edition catalog.

That mask is in none of those.
Post some pics of which catalog you are talking about!
Would love to see it.

Remember that the trivia, special editions of the masks and fright night film fest
You will have those chances for the autograph.

But, no it will be a new frank sculpt.

Pm me.

alright here are the rules:
lets keep this simple.
1st person to answer all 3 questions correctly wins.

yours choice of prizes are:

1: a repo catalog personalize to you from Mr. Charles Curtis
2: an original sketch from Mr. Charles Curtis
3: 30% off your 1st order from the new retro line of masks.

Questions are:

1:  where did Mr. Curtis get inspiration for the name "The Savage Eye"?
2:  what was the 1st mask Mr. Curtis did for the Savage Eye?
3:  what mask is named after Mr. Curtis's daughter?

have fun and good luck!

Without doing research I have no idea what the answers are, lol.

Here are the first batch of scans from the 76 catalog.    Still plenty of pages to go.

Satan, Satyr, and the Werewolf would be great choices I think for a redo.

Cool, looking forward to seeing them.   SE cats are very hard to come by let alone see pictures from.    I'll scan the rest of this catalog.
