All we have talked about is maybe scanning the old catalogs and have him sign those.
Throw me some ideas because I want this to be special for everyone!
Are you wanting some kind of stand with a plaque type deal?

There's a lot of discussion about reproductions here on the board of late, both in vintage toys and in Model kits. I've got plenty more ideas on how to create something that honors the man and his original products but is new and distinct and I'd be happy to share, thanks for asking.

I love display packaging, and this seems like the sort of thing that you could offer different 'levels' or the same item. You might even consider offering foam filled versions for display. I'd create those in an edition size to order, with a cut off date (I have no idea of the market, but 15 of each?). If you dont reach the max edition size, cut the edition to the order size and publicize it. I'm not much of a mask collector due to the preservation and display issue, so that would really appeal to me (my budget is a different story) .  I have an original Creature with a zipper, and I got it out of a bin (not trash, but retail). Did these originally have hang tags or packaging of any sort? An easy way to go is a cardboard header card stapled to a plastic bag. The next level of expense up would be boxes, but you could do a retro styled sticker or screen, or even a modern full color sticker on a standardized box. Again, lots of ideas. I would rather have his signature on a plaque than a repro catalog. Perhaps a dog tag like piece? Again, many thoughts. I'm finishing up some stuff on deadline now but would have time for more in depth conversation at the beginning of the week.

Now see I a, just the opposite.
I love masks and don't like foam filled items.
I understand the need to foam fill masks to preserve them but,
I have passed on many of masks just because they were foam filled.

I'll run it by him but, I believe the displaying would be up to the owner that way
We can keep on the runs of masks.

As far as a signed plaque....that's cool, too.  The catalog was just an idea.
I might just make something that has the old pic of the mask and, also has the new updated
Reboot pic of the mask on it.  And have that sort of a certificate style where he can sign it and you
Can display / frame it.

Whatcha think?

If it were foam filled in the mold, I'd be much more inclined to buy a collector mask.  If you are selling them to wear, and they are priced to wear, don't fill them.  Signed certificates/pieces of paper don't mean a lot to me, mostly just something to keep track of, but I know some are really into that.

Since they are new sculpts, it really is going to depend on what they look like and how much they cost.

Are these going to be offered as "Deluxe" haired versions Only?

I really Love the sculpted-hair versions!!  This is the Frankenstein mask version I have been looking for.
Love to have these with sculpted hair-with a thick pour, and painted with great details, not like the 1st versions.
Those were done in a more factory line fashion, but for these Retro Lines with
a thicker pour, and detailed paint job, you could charge a higher price-I'd gladly pay.

Not out to debate the hair-suit suite, I love a great Du on most of my masks also,  it is just the
sculpted hair versions of these masks that has long attracted me, and the wish to see them really
Customized to their fullest Horror...er uh glory.

With all of these options will most likely try to provide them all.
Maybe a foam filled mask.
But, the plan is to do thick versions of the mask for display anyways.
I believe we will also, do a regular and deluxe version.

And if you don't want a certificate signed would you guys rath have the masks themselves signed?

Wow!  Thanks fo the catalogue pics, Danny.  I bought werewolf mask VERRRY much like the one pictured back in maybe 1980 outside the Haunted Mansion in Disney World.  Could it have been a Savage Eye?  It was haired and had a zipper enclosure in the back.

I would so want that haired Frank and hands-----IF the Frank was wearable.

Thanks Danny!
By any chance do you have a colored catalog from the savage eye?

You are welcome. I do not have a color catalog but remember seeing color pics, somewhere. I'll give that some thought to see if I can remember where. Sean if it had a zipper in it, I would think it was certainly a Savage Eye.

Thanks Dan.  I have a pic of my buddy wearing it.

It is undoubtedly the same mask as you are showing here:

I sure DO like this Frank.  I would be in for a mask like this AND hands.  Do we know of a price point?

A little update for everyone.
My time got cut short with Charles today but, here is what we did talk about.

Instead of making one mask and offering that right off the bat we are going to have
4 or 5 to choose from at once.  And if all goes well, we will start on the next set.
Charles talked about just redoing the whole catalog haha.

They will be offered in economic and deluxe versions.
Hands will be offered and possible chest pieces for certain masks.
We will offer foam filled versions.  And possible display stands.

Some people want sign COAs and don't so, we will try and come up with something for that so, throw
Your ideas out there!

Not sure if I am missing someone?

But, as for prices we did talk about trying to keep them low.
There are 3 of us working on these together and we are working out the details between us
First before everything gets going.

When I know more you guys will!

Thanks for the interest and throw your ideas out there!

I'll have to get in on thread.      Danny will tell you I have one of if not the finest collection of SE masks in the world (I own the masks Dan pictured) and want nothing  more than to be part of this project.    You won't find bigger fans of this company than myself and Danny.   I'm sure you've heard this from a few people.

I have many questions for Mr. Curtis like why there was a completely different licensed Frankenstein in 1978, and what of the Non licensed Universal monsters that came in the early 80s.   Etc..    I'll take pics.

Stoic,  I would like to personally get in contact with Mr. Curtis if thats possible.    Please send me a PM.   I'm VERY serious in being part of this.
