I agree with all of you--after all the hype, I was left unimpressed by Cleve and the gang. Don't get me wrong Cleve himself is interesting but I dont see the quality work here..very disappointed with Wolfie--not the kind of film I'd be happy watching.  SOTA is known for a lot but if they expect to produce this crud and not be eliminated by CGI they won't last long. I would've MAYBE thought Wolfie was cool at age 8. Having said that, I really enjoyed the brief series on Distortions Unlimited since I own some of their product. Let's see more of that! Less concocted storylines! And better quality monsters Dammit!!!

Funny- I checked out his IMDB as well and I thought it was odd that the films we have seen on the show so far, which would have been in production in 2011, are not listed in his credits. Could that be because the FX shop and not Clive are credited in the film?

Or maybe they don't actually exist?? This show just feels horrendously fake.

I think most of the "Films" they are seen working on are actually demo reels shot to entice investors.  Some of these will never be made into a real movie.

Anyone seen this yet?  They pumped it pretty hard during Face Off, and had him appear on an episode. I was not impressed...

I've seen both episodes.. I think there were two.. For me, it's not must see TV but it's pretty good anyway. There's a lot of conflict and the clients who hire them always seem to be d-bags. The quality can be dodgy but it can be pretty neat looking too. They made a werewolf last week with an amazing looking body with the cartooniest head. Very odd. I'll keep watching only to see if they get a little less... I don't wanna say trashy but it's the only word that comes to mind. I'll give it a chance though. It IS art.

There is a topic about the, lack luster, Monster Man http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=17150.0 in the General Discussion.  No one is overly impressed with it but some (like me) are hanging in....after all it has monsters!

Thanks zombiehorror, I merged them.

One episode of Face Off had this Monster Man guy appear as a guest judge. It was obviously done to promo the Monster Man show.  Now I see that the contestants on Face Off were mostly all more talented than the "Monster Man" and crew (although he has more practical experience than most of them).

The Making Monsters show was interesting because it was "real".  They had a few bits, like Ed and his pointy ears... but mostly it was real artists who were very talented doing real work.  The personalities were not terribly interesting as entertainment.

This Monster Man show is more like Dog the Bounty Hunter of F/X.

I loved Forbidden Zone, and am interested to see if the sequel gets off the ground.  Several people who were in the original, like Hereve 'Tattoo' Villaicheze (or however you spell it) and Susan Tyrell, are deceased.

The head they made for it was pretty lame.  It didn't have anything about it that was memorable, like for instance, the girl in Eraserhead with the oatmeal cheeks.

In Heaven - Eraserhead

Simple, but effective.  What the Monster Man did for Richard Elfman failed to make an impression.
