Greetings. New Recruits (members with 50 posts and less) have now been placed on a moderated basis. This was done to help prevent spam as well as prevent people who join the forum just to flame someone and then leave (or get banned). This adjustment was made in light of our recent turmoil at the Model Kits forum. I realize this is an inconvenience to those new members with good intentions, but I feel it is necessary to ensure a clean and sanitized experience for all.

* moderation will eventually be removed after a New Recruit has shown the mods here that he or she is a legitimate law abiding citizen of the UMA.

This makes perfect sense. A probationary period never hurt anyone (except for troublemakers).

Calle me a softy or a risk taker, but I decided to remove the moderation restriction on New Recruits here at UMA. I couldn't help but to feel bad for the majority of new members who play nice and want to contribute freely. It doesn't make sense to penalize the majority for a few rotten eggs. I will however be looking into placing restrictions at the Model Kits forum. Not sure in what form yet, but it will happen.

Actually, this site is wonderfully free of ugly posting and twilight fans.  I think your judgement is spot on.

That's the fastest way to get dishonorably discharged from the UMA.
We're all here because we're not all there.

I would encourage more "Twilight" fans to join, in the hopes of deprogramming them.
