I'm glad to see that it's coming out finally, but Criterion always over prices their releases.
The box art shows half of a human hand and half of a monkey's paw, with a human skull in the background. The film's about a vivisectionist's experiments in turning animals into humans through repeated, horrifically painful, surgeries. Yeah, I don't get it, either.
I usually prefer the original poster art for cover design, with a few exceptions.
