Why oh WHY canīt there be kits like this done instead of paying $250 to $300 for this kind of thing.  A kit would be cheaper to make in styrene and cost us $40 at the most....

Or....Why canīt Sideshow go back to the 8 inch action figures of our beloved monsters.  You cannot find Dracula and the last series bunch etc....

Not as cheap as models, but their Monster Dioramas are $150.00 (not $250.00-$300.00).

Moebius is doing the invisible man, and a few other licences, and their new 39" seaview it outstanding.

Amok Toys is doing retro 50's 12" figures for $50 a pop. I say support the guys who are making our hobbies affordable.

When did $50 for a 12-inch doll become affordable?  And aren't they $59?  They're nice dolls, but look more like $29.99 than $59 to me.

Being that I have NO model building skills, if I purchase a model kit for $25.00-$30.00 I have to pay someone to build and paint it (another $75.00-$100.00). For me I'd much rather pay $150.00 for a nicely detailed and painted statue.

I can understand that, but I have the opposite attitude.  My reason for buying models is to build them.  The fun is in the activity.  The finished model is a reminder of the experience, like a vacation snapshot.  I'd rather have a poorly finished model that I painted myself than an expertly finished one painted by someone else.

Same here.. plus with SO many things coming out, there's no way I can afford 20 "collectables" a year.. but I CAN afford 20 models.

I just read Amok Toys also just sold out of the frickin NOTLD zombie guy, the day before I was going to preorder him.

I'm probably preordering IT!, and the saucer men set.. anyone wanna spilt the saucer men set up? It could be split 3 ways, so 3 people could each get a saucer man for about $30 a pop.

I'd also preorder both the other adult NOTLD figures, but that little girl from the basement always creeped me out FAR too much to have even a figure of.

You can still order the first NOTLD figure, go here and read the full post:

Actually, that read that they are taking email requests for more, and IF they get enough requests, they'll consider it. it doesn't say anywhere that they WILL make more.

(I'm guessing they might, if nothing else to make the rest of the line more attractive to buyers.)

And later, they also write:

And now for something completely different..
1)  Rondo Updates: Rondo is 90% sold out.
2)  Gort updates: Gort figure is 65% sold out.
3)  Gort and Klaatu two pack updates: Figure set is 85% sold out.
These are on the same shipping schedule as the NOTLD Zombie arriving late July.

Howdy UMA - anyone interested I'm ordering six of these and making them available for the same price as the Frank vs Wolf Man diorama:  $139.95 ($20 under retail) plus actual shipping cost.   Please email me at jeff(at)cjclassics.com or send me a PM if you'd like one.  (Had to wait to see the Dracula/Lugosi likeness before officially placing an order and they nailed it IMO).

If you'd like to see the original (unpainted) sculpt, I have 6 photos of it up in the NEWS section of my website.

I think the unpainted Lugosi is an excellent likeness! The painted one looked much less like him.

I'm afraid that I too like him better unpainted.
Another reason why this should be a model kit and we could paint him as we wish.

Got mine today and I think the Lugosi likeness may be the best I've ever seen. The pictures on their site don't do it justice. Not too thrilled by the paint job and there seems to be a issue with the hand around Renfield's throat, the thumb and thumb nail look weird. Not sure if I just got a bad one, but if anyone else gets one can they let me know if theirs has an issue also. It looks a little deformed.
