Here's another by the B-52's, a band whose sound was unlike any other!

The B52's first two studios album are the best.

Here's Blondie demonstrating their competence in other genres:

Ring of Fire

Still punk though since the original underlying imperative of punk was rebelling against the excesses that had crept into rock, i.e. prog, and returning rock to its 2:30 minute single origins.

I just hunted down a short review I'd written on an Iggy & the Stooges concert back in 2008:

Here are the results of the poll I posted requesting input on potential entertainments for an early August evening:

Iggy & the Stooges (*at*) Massey Hall on 6 August  - 27 votes

Avril Lavigne (*at*) the Molson Amphitheatre on 6 August -  2 votes

Backstreet Boys (*at*) the Molson Amphitheatre on 7 August  - 1 vote

None of the above. Take in a goth band at the Savage Garden or the Velvet Underground instead. -  3 votes

So I ended up bowing to the wishes of the majority and Red and I took in Iggy & the Stooges at Massey Hall. It turned out to be a full house - except for inexplicably a patch in the upper corner.

A loud and lively group of local punksters calling themselves *ucked Up opened for the Stooges. They appeared to have a pretty good following in attendance and put on an excellent show.

Iggy & the Stooges delivered every bit as much as I expected. They were loud, crude and frantic. Iggy was shirtless and performed with even more energy than Mick Jagger. He leaped from the stage into the audience at one point and was eventually coaxed/dragged back on stage by security personnel. Rumour has it that Avril Lavigne employs dancers at her shows. The Stooges, however, never have any need to pay dancers. Iggy just invited the audience up onto the stage midway through the show. Being a dignified gentleman, I stayed in my seat. The tunes that they did were barely, if at all, recognizable but that too I expected. A good time was had by all - except for the middle aged fellow a few rows behind us who was led out by security for I think filming the show.

We met up with a couple of fourteen year old girls who were returning from the Avril Lavigne concert on the GO train after the show. One of them opined that Avril was hot and she'd do her. She then seemed a bit embarrassed.

Nonetheless, an evening well worth the time, effort and money expended.

I don't see what all these girls see in A.L.

Well she looked hot to me back in 2008!

 ;)

I worked in a high school where lesbianism was like fashionable shoes. They wear them for a week, then go to another pair. I guess it's a right of passage for certain teenage girls. By prom, they would hook up with guys on the football team.

Huh?! As opposed to the math nerds with the M.I.T. scholarships?

Here's one that's more punk than most these days, a great live version of Monday, Monday, Monday by Tegan and Sara:

No PDAs, meant no PDAs (even for hot lesbians).

Me I'm more inclined to ban personal digital assistants than public displays of affection.

Was listening to "Only Theatre of Pain" record from Christian Death.

That is their best LP. R.I.P. Rozz Williams. I went to the Museum of Death a few times and took photos of the door Rozz used in his suicide. After taking the photos, I felt a strange presences in the room. The Museum of Death is an odd experience. One must be prepared entering the Museum. For the Museum of Death is a more-than-shocking experience. People fascinated with Death as a subculture, will definitely find the Museum interesting.
