Here's a band that I've always found a little to commercial for my tastes, but I know they have a huge following; I can really hear the influence they probably had on some of the newer bands like Green Day and Blink 182.

Mommy's little monster - Social Distortion

Hep
Having gone thru the Catholic school system back in the 60's early 70's I LOVE that shirt. I had a nun that looked like that.

Here is a GREAT but short lived NYHC band.

ANTIDOTE Thou Shalt Not Kill EP (1983)

Social D. was pretty good in the early years........but yes, way too commercial now. Plus, Mike Ness can not
shut the *(*at*)#* up during a show. >:D

If we are going to start throwing our "industrial metal" cards onto the table I'd start with Killing Joke~

Killing Joke - The Wait

You also had Big Black which had more of a punk feel in my opinion than acts like Ministry, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM or Nine Inch Nails~

big black - "bad penny"

zombiehorror,
                     Awesome choices on Killing Joke and Big Black. One my favorite LPs by B.B.
                     is SONGS ABOUT F*#*^#(*at*).

Frankie Venom and the rest of the boys in Hamilton's Teenage Head ended up as the standard bearers for Canadian punk. I love this album cover because it says everyrthing you need to know about punK;

I guess these guys might have been post New Wave but, they're sound resonated with me...

Wall of Voodoo - Back In Flesh (live)

Stan Ridgway is, in my opinion, America's greatest singer/songwriter.
