I still have a few years left in me before I hit the big 4-0 so i made it into this group. I was into monster at a very young age by watching the classic on what was the The Son of Svengoolie (now he just goes by Svengoolie) and a whole lot of Godzilla flicks. Once I got into jr high i was introduced to more modern horror and slasher movies. I'll always love the classics and take a rubber suit over CGI any day.
Double gotcha! Look at the month and year of the post and the birthday. He was in fact 38 at the time of the post!
It's like Logan's Run here. You hit 40 and you just 'go on Carousel', Jeff. BTW, I'm a 'Runner'. My little palm light has been flashing red for YEARS.
oooohhhh...love Svengoolie.. not as much as Zacherely, but . .hes pretty rad.
I've never heard of Zacherely, i'll have to look him up.
Yep this November 20th I will be 40! Guess I will be a old monster lol.
gasps in utter disbelief.... oh my goodness,, you dont know what youre missing !!!! He is theeee Cool Ghoul.
I was born in '73, but sometimes I wonder if I was born in the wrong era because I LOVE THIS STUFF!My parents didn't allow me to watch anything monster or horror related when I was growing up, but I was drawn to it anyway (or maybe because of their restrictions!). I sought out the monsters first in the library, and the children's section had almost every volume of the Crestwood House Monster Series. If I checked out these books FROM THE LIBRARY, it MUST be okay for kids, right? At least, that's what I was banking on when it came to my parents. Ultimately, they allowed me to explore the classics, and I've been hooked ever since. I've explored and expanded my fandom through my writing, Halloween make-ups, podcasts, etc. . . . Sometimes the amount of work I put into celebrating my fandom makes me FEEL older than 40, but I'm not quite there yet . . . !
Jordan and I each have an autographed Zach photo we received through a wonderful UMA friend that I still have to get framed. Thing is, I want to frame it along with some WPIX/Chiller Theatre memorabilia from the era, and it's REALLY tough to find nice stuff.
I fit into this group for another day...I'll be 40 on Friday
