UP, that's great! Love the skunk ape. You could do a whole series -MoMo, Sasquatch, Boggy Creek, Yeti, etc. Very cool!

Here's my latest:

Should this one have a blue or green color scheme? Does his collar need to be filled in with black?

Haven't had a chance to do any doodling lately, but had to have a hairy hominid fix.  I was thinking about Scatter and his love for Florida, so I whipped this up - just for him!  Actually, I think that's the ol' rascally ape himself in this sketch!

This reminds me of some of the Independent comics I used to buy in my "hey day"  (well, at least I pretended to have one of these).  I always collected Marvel and DC, but occasionally some artist would come along through an Independent line like our own Scary Terry's (Terry Beatty) work on Ms. Tree ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ms._Tree ) and blow the big companies away.  UP, if this was on the stands when I was collecting, it would have been coming home with me.

Actually, I'd like to get some feedback/input on which of these color schemes is the most suitable:

Illoman

I think they all look great, but am torn between the pink and the blue ones. Sorry, but they all look great!!

Nice Work UP! Love seeing things to help to perpetuate and keep the Legends alive!

Is this all pencil?

I've only been on the boards for a year now, do you have any other works posted?

UP, you have some SERIOUS talent.  You're blessed because you LOVE doing something that you're flat out GREAT at.  You have a passion for monsters, specifically the humanoid/ape type and you just know how to make them.

And as popular an image as the ape-man/ monster thingy is.... you seem to have an original style.  I'm sure that you are inspired by certain images... but I don't see YOUR version/ product quite anywhere else.

I was at the boardwalk in Point Pleasant and they have this undersea mural on a building wall... I 've also seen one similar in VA Beach.... I would think the natives would be knocking each other over to beg you to do something akin to that out in Northern California where thet sell so much bigfoot stuff along the PAC Coast Highway...

I personally love your stuff.  I will fight anyone who disagrees with me. ;D

UP is so into the hominid creatures that he can take a ball of clay while he's watching TV and replicate Classic Kong's visage without even a reference to look at. I can't even create a sphere with a ball of clay.

Hey UP, you do any color on those pics?? You could sell those in B&W or color. Some swampy green water and foliage, dirty brown fur, blue sky and red eyes.......get CHILLS just thinkin' about it.
