Well you certainly wouldn't have gone wrong choosing one of those two fellows either!
Perfect place to see if I can post from flickr, so hopefully here are some Werewolf covers for Sly Wolf to enjoy.
I agree!I'm going post Wild Dog (four scans) and Ms. Tree (one scan) comic book covers soon. You have no idea how surprised I was when I discovered that Scary Terry here actually did those comic books. Terry Beatty! And some new Phantom comic strip that I was reading in sunday newspapers few weeks ago, turns out it's actually drawn by him as well! I thought that artwork in Phantom drawn by him is good. Phantom strips is THE only reason why I still pick up sunday comics and read only Phantom strips and few others in that sunday paper.
One of a dozen variant covers in the year of the monster by mignola on his dark horse titles.
Glad to read that you enjoy my work, Sly Wolf. There probably will never be another Collins/Beatty WILD DOG story -- but as soon as Max's schedule opens up, he's going to start writing a new MS. TREE graphic novel that I'll draw. The Phantom has been a real treat to work on -- you can see the Sunday pages so far on my blog: http://www.terrybeatty.blogspot.com/ Color for the earlier entries was provided by fellow UMA member, Tom Smith.TB
Several years after the initial run, Max and I pitched a revival to DC -- specifically to (much missed) editor Archie Goodwin. We had some good talks and I did a few drawings - but eventually we decided DC wanted so many changes to the core concept that it wasn't working for us anymore, and we went on to other things. We never did work on anything for Archie, darn it.
Last try, hope this works.
All of theses comic books are pretty difficult to find, let alone find at a good price. The Black Cat Mystery # 50, I found at a swap-meet.
Is that an actual scan? If so, it's in fabulous condition for its age.
