I found a photo of me with one of my favorite toys from that era: a set of Yogi bear Bowling pins! Simple plastic Yogi's that you set up and bowled over.

POST POST POST!!

Illoman- These pictures made me get all misty eyed. You kids were so cute and your pictures were the sweetest things!  :)  Thanks for putting them up on this awesome magical history tour! I think I got one of those Coke machines one year for my birthday. I can taste the cola in my mind! Wasn't it one of those toys where you mixed syrup or powder to make your own pop?

Illoman, just lovin' all of this! What a trip back. The jammies, the TV,it all  takes me back to the earliest days I can remember. The expressions on you and your brothers' faces are priceless! Such pure joy and excitement. I also spotted a rubber ducky in there; I always loved taking baths with mine. Just great stuff, thanks for sharing!

I appreciate everyone's comments on the photos. I wanted to post one more. My younger brother was just a baby when this was taken, but I remember my dad reading this to us every Christmas. A few years ago dad had a pile of stuff to go to Goodwill and this book was in there!!! Needless to say I grabbed it and it's in my collection today.

Mike, I remember that Yogi Bear bowling set.  I didn't have one, but sure wanted it.  Love the photos. I've got some of me in my room circa 1963 where I'm holding a couple of monster magazines...I just haven't  located them yet.
Scatter, I know what you mean I really miss my dad too.

Illoman- I would be happy to look at every photo you own!!  :)  They are all so wonderful and you are all so adorable!  I am the picture freak of my family, so I take a ton of photos and I have a lot on my computer as well as 25+ photo albums. There's something so magical about old photos- I can't get enough of them. Thank you soooo much for sharing these with us on the history tour.

Thanks everyone! My folks made sure we always had a great Christmas. I'll post more in the next coupla days.

I had a scare last night. My brother called to tell me they admitted my dad to the hospital. He was having severe vertigo. They kept him in and did an MRI which they'll give us the results tomorrow. Kinda poignant after I just posted a photo of him. I sympathize with those who have lost their dads, and pray they'll be at peace about it.

Illoman, Wishing your dad all the best and a rapid recovery. I lost mine when i was in my early 20's and that was 30 years ago. I envy everyone who had  long rewarding relationships with their dads and i pray yours continues for years to come.
