Oh, absolutely Bud! As far as monster craze items go, all roads lead back to the Aurora factory...I was just trying to hone in specifically on the monster hot rod phase of the chain. I remember it all beginning with Rat Fink.

I have all 66 of the Weird-oh Baseball cards (color photocopies of the backs, too) framed and on the wall of my man-cave.  I had some of them as a kid but finally grabbed them all off of EBAY in assorted lots.  I also created my own figure  (my own design, #13, Screwball)

Man, Screwball is SWEEEEEEEET!! Did you use Sculpy?? It fits in perfectly with the production line. Terrific job!

Thanks! I used  MagicSculp http://www.magicsculp.com/  It is much more durable than Sculpey, although I have developed a hideous allergic reaction to the stuff...sigh.

Free advice: wear gloves, work in a ventialted area.   Build up an armature with coat-hanger wire and tin foil.  Apply masking tape on that.  Secure to a mounting block of wood. Work in small batches as the Magiscsulp will adhere to itself.  You have about an hour once it has been blended together. Use Krylon plastic adhesive paint as an undercoat.  Paint with acylics.  Finish with Krylon Clear Matte Finish Plastic Adhesive paint.  Here ended the lesson! :)  Good luck!

The dragon from the Lord of the Rings cartoon I sculpted:

Bilbo from that same movie (He's a bobble-body)

Modified Hill Giant to Cyclops from D&D

Glad to see there are some rockabilly, surf, and rock n' roll fans on here. ;) Its so funny, these items just scream rockabilly and surf to me when I see them  Awesome!

it's very much the car culture, big daddy ed roth style  and i think that has become synonymous with rockabilly, psychobilly, and horror punk,  the same can be said for classic horror in general after all you can look at any psychobilly band and see a Frankenstein or the bride on their shirts and album covers. i listen to psychobilly and punk music and i think one of my prized possessions is this misfits shirt with the wolfman on it.

I love ed roth's work and always get this warm little feeling when i look at this kind of art, i consider myself a low brow artist as well and have a tattoo of a little wolfman surfing along with  one of my dad's cartoon characters, my dad was totally into the car/surf culture of the sixties and his work is definitely inspired by this kind of fink and weirdo art.  i just love this stuff
even a woman who is pure of heart....well you know the rest..

Weird-Ohs (& weirdos) are awesome!  That's one of the main reasons I love this site!
