Some of these may already be known about me, but here goes anyway:

1.   I've fallen off a 40 foot bridge and stood up immediately after landing on my back.  My landing pad was a rock-strewn mud puddle, littered with railroad spikes.

2.   I was a Professional Wrestler on & off for several years - I never became famous and did not get rich.

3.   I've been married for 23 years.

4.   I held the Indiana State Benchpress Record (a long time ago) by breaking the record, set by Tom Zupancic, former strength coach for the Indianapolis Colts.

5.   I have an OCD-type deal where I sometimes, time stoplights, commercials, etc.  Plus, I sometimes count my steps as I'm walking.

6.   I once won a body painting contest, held at the Muncie Mall.  Garfield creator, Jim Davis, competed in it also.

7.   I have an unfinished tattoo of KING KONG on my right shoulder/arm.

8.   I love Mexican & Tex/Mex food.

9.   I don't really drink alcohol very often.

10. I've never seen a ghost - at least, I don't think I have...

Let's see: Ten things about me.

 1. I am not overweight--I'm under tall.  If my height and weight were proportional, I’d have to be
     about 10 feet tall.
 2. I have no musical ability.  This, despite my parents insisting on music lessons.
 3. I have no artistic ability.  I Cannot draw, sculpt, paint, or carve.  I’m even lousy at connect the dots.
 4. I read a lot, but not as much as I used to:  I'm down to 75-80 books a year.
 5. Ridiculously over educated.  BA in History/anthropology. MA in History.
And I work in a plasma center.
 6. Lousy at math.  Loved science, but I could not figure out numbers.
 7. I wear trifocals. (Maybe related to #4)
 8. Amateur astronomer. (never a chance at being a pro--see #6)
 9. I have not seen a movie in a theater in years.  The last one: Troy
10. Really pretty boring.

Firstly Craig, as an avid Keaton fan I'm begging you to expound on the check story.

1) I'm awed by Jesus Christ

2) I'm still passionately in love with my wife Nancy

3) I generally hate any movie made after 1985

4) I adore early film stars such as Laurel and Hardy, Buster Keaton, Douglas Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, etc.

5) I'm obsessed with Hollywood/Los Angeles history.

6) I despise peas, insects, eating outside (see "insects"), living in Florida, heat and humidity (see "living in Florida") and the Baltimore Ravens (Hi OG!!).

7) I want to own a Drive-In theater and show exclusively a mixture of classic films and schlock.

8.) I love classic American Muscle Cars.

9) There's no time or occasion where I feel it's inappropriate to eat a hot dog (and NO....I do NOT care how they're made, so don't bother telling me).

10) I don't belong in this era or place.

We're all here because we're not all there.

"Firstly Craig, as an avid Keaton fan I'm begging you to expound on the check story."

Scat-

I met Patty Tobias at a FILM FORUM Keaton fest years ago, when she was just starting her fan group, "The Damfinos." Hearing that I was a classic radio fan, she asked if I knew of copies of Buster's rare radio appearances. I didn't, but said that as a member I'd call AFTRA and see if they had any record of it.

They didn't - but said, "Hey, do you know how to contact Buster's widow? There's a small residual check here for him." Through Patty, I got that to Eleanor (who has since died herself, I think.)

Best,
-Craig

P.S. - And just recently, I finally found the radio show itself for Patty!

2. I have been married over 2 years to my beautiful wife, although we've been together for over 7 years (took me awhile...)

3. We have a beautiful 5 month old daughter...she is Daddy's Girl!

4. I enjoy DIY projects and building my tool collection (just an average family handyman though...)

5. I have been teaching elementary school for 15 years. Met First Lady Michelle Obama and First Lady of Mexico Margarita Zavala when they came to my school and participated in my class to promote healthy eating.

6. I love reading: fiction as a kid, race and gender issues in my 20's and military history, history, philosophy, DIY books in my 30's (not much time anymore)

7. I enjoy studying and playing old Avalon Hill /SPI wargames. It's kind of like military chess, set in a historical period. Love chess as well (again...time is limited)

8. I like to write and enjoy spoken word performances

9. Love drinking wine with my wife...used to swim in Remy when I was partying hard, but wine is more my speed now. Malbecs, Shiraz, Bordeaux, Cabernet...

10. Love to travel (again, pre baby days!)

5. I am distantly related to Randy Bachman of Guess Who/ BTO fame, though I've never met the man

Years ago, we were on vacation in Winnepeg. My mom broke her glasses, we found the nearest optometrists, & were waited on by Tim Bachman! I still have his autograph. I think they're brothers...

This has been very interesting reading! I'd love to follow up on some of these items with some of you. But I figure I need to contribute first, so here we go:

1. I enjoy writing, have had articles on comic books published in Back Issue magazine, co-author a blog on comics and 70s pop culture (see my signature) with a friend, and just started my first fiction project in 15 years. I can't say much, but it involves the Frankenstein Monster, zombies, and alchemists...

2. In college I worked as a veterinary assistant. This was the most interesting and enlightening job I've ever had. it also made me a firm believer in the existence of the soul.

3. I met my husband playing an on-line game called City of Heroes.

4. Despite my blue eyes, brown hair, and light skin, I am one-quarter Native American (Sac and Fox).

5. I am co-inventor on a patent for a synthetic DNA probe.

6. I have a competitive streak: Many years ago, after breaking a bone in my foot, I went out and bought larger cleats so I could play in a softball playoff game.

7. I haven't traveled a lot, but I've been to both Iceland and Australia.

8. I'm a fairly talented mimic and can do a variety of accents and impersonations.

9. I would eat BBQ and/or Mexican food every day if I weren't concerned about my health.

10. I love dogs but haven't been able to bring myself to let another one into my life since I lost my last two a few years ago.

1. I've been married to my darling wife 41 years this comming 2/14. Yea Valentine's Day.

2. Worked 40 years at the New York Stock Exchange, retiring 2 1/2 years ago.

3. Had long hair, wore bell-bottem pants in the 60's. Kind of hippie looking.

4. Entered the 1964 FMOF make-up contest, didn't win. Val Warren won and I believe Rick Baker came in second.

5. Made 8mm monster movies with friends on the block in the early 60's. Showed them in someone's basement and charged admission.

6. Wanted to be a monster make-up man in the movies.

7.Always wanted to get the Don Post Calendar masks when they first came out in the 60's but could not afford them then.

8.Wish I still had all the monster stuff that I had when I was a kid.

9.Pulled a windowwasher hanging by only one of his straps back into my office at work. Close call.

10. Very glad I found the UMA website.

Yep Tim left the original BTO in 1974. Left Randy and Robbie as the Bachman parts of the band-btw if you're interested, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner have released a new album just called "Bachman and Turner", if you like classic gear-head rock  ;D
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.
