Licensing Issues and UMA

(1/1)

[admin]I can't believe I even have to say this, but after today, I know I do. If your a model kit manufacturer or a sculptor, and your sharing pics of your product or handiwork, and it isn't licensed, you do so at your own risk! In case you haven't already figured it out by now, the UMA is a very public and open forum with many members, some of which are copyright attorneys, entertainment lawyers, estate attorneys, and even representatives from the major studios themselves. There may even be members here, who, for whatever reason, may take it upon themselves to report the infringement to the lawful copyright holder. Posting pics along with ordering info for an unlicensed kit is something you do at your own risk! The UMA will NOT be liable or held responsible in anyway for your offense. To be honest, we may not even be interested at all. That is unless your the legal copyright holder and would like to report to the admins an infringement made upon your property here at UMA. We're trying to run a large forum here and we will NOT be subjected to inside squabbles regarding model kits and licensing laws. That's not our job here. That doesn't mean we condone unlicensed products. All it means is we're NOT going to play copyright police, and we're NOT going to play the "People's Court" for the endless and petty bickering that takes place in the garage kit hobby. The model kit board here at UMA is to be enjoyed for sharing and exchanging information relevant to the hobby. However you decide to share that info is entirely up to you and at your own risk. As long as it doesn't break this forum's TOS, whatever you decide to put out there, falls back on you! Interpret this however you will. [/admin]
