I disagree, no offense. I think it is meant to look sort of like "IT, the Terror from Beyond Space"

Not saying you're wrong by any means but I think that Shock Monster, Mani Yak kinda/sorta artwork was the rage with mail aways and stuff.

I think they were alot of SM knock offs at that time....Collegeville and Topstone seem to have a few look alikes.

I am... those are definitely the sharp teeth of the "IT" monster, not the snaggle teeth of Shock Monster. The arrow-ish ridge on the head is the dead giveaway for me.

I think it looks more like the Paul Blaisdel monster from "Day the World Ended"(sorry, I have no pictures).

We ARE talking about the one in the middle right? On the bottom?--- the one in the middle? Cause, if so, that is definitely the "IT, the Terror from Beyond Space Monster."

Now-- to my knowledge, no such mask as ever produced of the IT monster (Monster Bob? Richard-- any memories of such?).

However--that's immaterial to the ad. Ads frequently showed images that were discrepant to what the actual product was. It may look like the "IT" monster in the ad...but they may ship the Shock Monster.

All I am saying is that the monster in the middle represented in this ad shown in this thread is the "IT, The Terror from Beyond Space" monster. It's not like there's no precedent for it. Palmer, of course made one, and included his image on the Palmer Monster target set.

Oh-- and it is missing the requisite THird eye required if it was to represent the monster from "Day the World Ended."

[SIDE NOTE: I ordered this thing when I was a kid, and while I liked the poster, I thought the "masks" sucked. Not so much because they were paper as much as they looked nothing like what was in the ad, which I thought looked kind of cool.]
