The head was sculpted by me...I used a styrofoam head as the base and used paperclay to form the face and head.  Paperclay can  be found in most craft stores and it is very easy to work with...just like clay...it can be moistened as it dries so detail can be added and it can be sanded and painted easily.  What I like about using it is it has the same feel as resin bust when it dries and is light as far as weight is concered.

I also found that by watching the origional Frankenstein over and over again again and pausing it I was able to see the monster's face in motion and at different angles so I could see more detail then a picture might show.  The paint I used is regular acrylic craft paint and the hair is a very inexpensive synthetic wig that I purchased at a gag shop...I went very cheap on the materials just to see what I can do for little money...so far so good...still thinking about adding acrylic eyes  and tweeking the paint and detail...like I said it is a work in progress...will keep you posted on the progress...thanks for looking!

Very Nice!!  I was hoping you had made a mold of your Karloff head,
in hopes of obtaining a copy of your Excellent Frankie sculpt,
but I guess it is truly one of a kind!

Funny you would mention that...I resently inquired about making a mold of this piece and some of my other  sculpts( or My Children ... as the WIFE remarks)thanks to various members of the "ARMY' who were so  giving of advice on how to go about it a mold may be in the near future...will keep you posted.
