These guys were from the early 80's and I want to say I had the "Manglord" pretty much the 1st Christmas I can remember, so I guess I was about 5? Which would be about 82 or 83..in that area.

Anyway, I remember there was the Manglord, a Manglor Dinosaur and Manglor Demon..the latter came in "eggs". There was also Manglor Mountain, which was the coolest darn thing. It wasnt much, basically a plastic mountain with a cage on top...It bubbled and oozed, and your Manglord stood on top of it all.  They were basically like a Stretch Armstrong, only you were encouraged to rip them apart and stick 'em back together...they never went back together right, they didnt stand up well, and you could DARE play with them on a carpet or near a dog...lint and hair and it was an issue! Great toy lol.. I do remember loving the heck out of this guy and keeping him in a ziplock. I also tried to find them and even posted on craigslist looking for one..no dice. Plus I dont know given the nature of the toy how it would hold up. Wishfull thinking.

Not a classic monster by any means...but if the illustration on that box isnt "Monster" I dont know what is! I'm pretty sure its what stopped me in my tracks as a kid...

Oh, yeah, I remember Manglors.  My little brother had them.  I still have a boxed Manglor Mountain, it is a really cool toy.

Lucky!! Yeah the mountain rocked...I see them around, still boxed is very impressive dude!! The actual Manglors themselves though..ESPECIALLY Manglord...pretty tough to find.

I have two, maybe three, boxed Manglor characters.  But no mountain.  I like this weird 80s stuff.  I'm not interested in the major 80s toy lines, like He-Man or GI Joe.  But I like the oddball lines, like Thriller Graveyard Gang, Bugmen of Insecta, Dragonriders of the Styx, Nightmare Warriors, Rocks and Bugs and Things, Pirates of the Galaxseas, Warrior Beasts, and Manglors.  And I like freaky mainstream lines like the Boglins and Inhumanoids, and weird novelties like the Oh! Lantern Family pumpkins.  The 80s had some strange stuff.

OK, I dug up my Manglors.  I thought I had three, but it looks like I've only got two.  Oh well.

They were in the same box as my Bugmen, Dragonriders and Thriller figures.  I need more Bugmen.

Ray those are FANSTASTIC!!!! Where did you ever find them?! I've been driving myself nuts looking for one! If those are your originals you may be the "Alpha-Collector"!

I remember inhumanoids..very cool line, Im trying to think of some of the less maintstream stuff....Sectaurs? They were pretty cool, I remember there was something that was like a pen, but it looked like an insect and had a tube with fake blood...very sketchy I know. Remember "Supernaturals"? Those were kinda cool...how about "M.U.S.C.L.E.s"..man I LOVED those things!

Anyway back to Manglors!

So that's what this is!!  Don't know if I have the lid, I'll have to go back out in the garage and check.

I remembered having this when I was a kid but couldn't place what toy line it belonged to!  Thanks BlackLagoon!!

This is one of many items I rescued from my mom's house a couple of years ago along with; Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Sectaurs, Thunder Cats, Remco's Warrior Beasts, Ghostbusters (Peter & Egon), Inhumanoids, Arco's Other World, Blackstar and a few other odds and ends.  I was lucky to save what I did since mom was kind of a pack rat and when I joined the Army someone decided it was a good idea to let my nephews loose upon my stuff while my mom was watching them...Thanks Mom, Jeremiah and Zachery!!  I was missing all kinds of stuff that I know I had or I'd find a door here, or wheel there, maybe a weapon but no figure for it, etc.
