All of Hammer's mummy films vary in quality, story and casts, enough so to keep them interesting. Instead of going with one main mummy(like Universal did with Kharis), they produced four stand alone stories of the walking dead. What's your favorite?

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

I love the Universal series, but The Mummy's Shroud is my all-time favorite Mummy movie. It's received some very harsh reviews, & I can't understand why. I think it's a terrific film.

The Mummy 1959 with Cushing and Lee is pretty much the final word on Mummy films for me.  It took all of the aspects from Universal's Kharis series and neatly packaged them into one technicolor epic. Marvelous.

It's my favorite Hammer mummy film as well.. I think the cast was a pretty decent one and the mummy looked like a replica of an actual mummy, not just a guy in costume.

I you have an issue of Famous Monsters #46, there's a review of the film when it was new, & a picture of the real mummy, in the British Museum, that inspired the reel mummy. Sorry I don't have the hardware to post a photo.
