escape from new york

big trouble in little china

the searchers ~ john wayne

my pick for ultimate guy flick ~ the good, the bad and the ugly. man, does this movie even have a female speaking part in it? maybe in the beginning, when the mexican woman's family is gunned down. oh, and when angel eyes beats the whore.

anything with ben affleck in it. just kidding! man, he sucks. it'd be one thing if he sucked rotten eggs, at least he could put those in his pants and pretend they were testicles. i watched about 30 seconds of that movie he did with liv tyler and decided he needs to return his man card.

unforgiven

shawshank redemption

papillon, and if you've got the guts, you nancy boy, midnight express

sad to say, but one of the best tough guy movies within the last ten years is 'kill bill.' 'aliens' was pretty bad-ass, too.

oh, and well, INDIANA JONES was pretty tough!

yes, i agree, the last rambo flick kicked some major arse.

godfather

best line ever from a tough guy was delivered by will pederson (? the CIS guy) in the movie, 'to live and die in l.a.' he's a tough cop who's just satisfied his mega-hot informant. all tough guys can sexually satisfy a chick, don'tcha know, and in ways these babes never thought possible. anyhoo, he's in the foreground putting his boots on, she's still naked in bed in the background and says, 'hey, i could use some bread, ya know?' without even looking at her he replies, 'you want bread, then go f*kc a baker.' if ever there was a single line in a movie to pattern your life by, well, this probably ain't it, but then again, if you don't have this attitude then you're probably not banging mega-hot informants and get killed, either.

hey, hey, you want a tough guy? watch 'l.a. confidential.' this movie reaches out of the screen and grabs you by your floral print lapels and shakes you around like a rag doll until you lie withered like an eight year old girl in the corner begging for mercy. ...or something like that. cool movie. i'd be shocked if anyone hear hasn't seen it.

rocky. proof that ex-porn stars need love, too.

in the heat of the night. already mentioned, but it's worth noting as not only a great movie, but full of tough guys, too.

american history x. not for the faint of heart, so if you're planning on antiquing with the wife this weekend, this might overload you. then again, maybe you need a good jolt.

Kill Bill, not a great speaking movie, but an excellent action flick.
For plot and dialogue I give it a 2 out of 5
for action/violence I give it a 5 out of 5

i thought carradine's character assessment of superman in 'kill bill 2' was pretty good. and ya gotta love it when an assassin just tells the little daughter of the woman she just slew that if she ever wants revenge that she'll be waiting for her. to each their own, of course, but in all i thought the dialogue in the two was pretty good bordering on excellent. but, if you're not a tarantino fan you're likely not to like this any better than his other movies.

and it's refreshing to finally have a revenge movie that doesn't cop out in the end. she sets out to kill bill and kills bill. most other 'revenge' movies are weak, where the hero kills about everyone and gets to the end and decides *not* to kill anyone else but the villain dies anyway. that one 'revenge' flick with mel gibson really just pissed me off by the end. not a revenge movie, but 'daredevil' pissed me off in the same way, just to mention another example.

I like Tarantino movies for the action violence and over the top blood, but if I want really good acting/dialogue,
then I would watch an old classic, like Lawrence of Arabia or Goodbye Mr.Chips, or even The Dead poets Society.
I dont watch action movies for their dialogue, I watch it for the tremendous fights, guns blazing, car chases, and the crash and burn scenes.

Preyer, I could watch this movie on repeat just to hear the late David Carradine deliever those lines on Superman and heroes etc...that was brilliant and I absolutley love it!
"I send my murdergram to all the monster kids, it comes right back to me, signed in their parents blood"
