...and you can see his incredible 1:1 Karloff Frankenstein and 1:1 Reed werewolf in the background.  How friggin' unbelievable this guy's work is. 8)

To me, what defines a "Great" artist are the
jawdropping moments he/she achieves.

Mike Hill's pieces consistently draw gasps
from those who see them!

His ability to capture the slightest detail
in expression, and at the same time, give it
a glimmer of life.....UNREAL!!

I am a HUGE FAN....(or could you tell?)

I love Mike Hill's work! His lifesize figures aren't simply a stic figure, they are a "screenshot" from the movie ... amazing stuff.

The giant monster head looks like it could be 5-6 feet tall.  It is remarkable how he maintains proportion and detail supersizing the image.

I was there at Monsterpalooza with Sara Karloff in April, and Mike's display was set up just across the way, sideways from us, so we enjoyed looking at the figures all day, every day.  The big monster head was about 5' tall, I'd say--and what blew me away was--when you stood close to it--you could see Boris' WHISKERS--for Mike had incredibly included Karloff's five-o'-clock shadow via some kind of bristles sticking out of the skin.  It was beyond amazing!  Here's a shot I took from a different angle--and a different day, when Mike had brought the "merely life-sized" Karloff figure to display next to the giant monster.

Thanks for the story and the pic, Robert!

That's amazing work. The attention to detail is phenomenal.

What makes the world of art so exciting is that every once in awhile an artist comes along and raises the bar in both skill and imagination of subject matter. Mike Hill is one of those artists. I can never tire of looking at his work.

I agree, Jim.

I think Mike Hill should be commissioned to do a Mt. Rushmore of the Universal Monsters. We just need to find a suitable mountain somewhere.

Universal Studios should buil one on the Hollywood lot.

The huge Frankenstein face is terrific.  But the seated monster lloks like it could stand right up out of the chair.

Amazing!
