Great news (I think). I'll have to see them, before I start cheering. The new Mego doesn't really have a good track record. Fingers crossed.

They will be on a new bandless body with increased articulation at the same $15 price. Mummy is not based on UM.

Amok Time says they will have them in September.

Who is ordering all these toys and games without seeing even catalog illustrations - which are notoriously unreliable?

I wait to see customer photos.

Uhm, this is their Headless Horseman. None for me. Which is a shame.

Looks like a pumpkin with a fake leather Star Trek outfit. I officially rescind my previous semi-compliment of their Mummy.

Is this for real?! The paintwork on this looks to be custom so I'm thinking this isn't a legit Mego figure (also the gold pen buttons don't seem like their thing at all).

The head looks like it came off of a 3d printer judging by the striations. I guess custom too.

There's a small local toy show coming up in a week, that takes place about 3 times a year.  There's usually a Mego dealer there that has the new stuff before it's available.  He had the blue Wolfman and GID Frankenstein wave in April, but I was tending a booth and by the time I heard he had sold out.

Hopefully he'll have the new stuff too!

This was circulating awhile back on Facebook.  It didn't look legitimate to me, and it didn't come from MEGO, so I ignored it.  I am waiting to see an official announcement from MEGO regarding the Horseman, but also the Phantom.

Let's hope not.

Sure does look like a custom job.

Posted at the mego forums, where many of the same point discussed here were mentioned. It does look custom, yet the poster declares its legit. We will see. I am not impressed if its real. :'(

Quite frankly, the Horseman figure looks pretty awful if that is the one Mego goes with.  I suspect it will not be the final product though, but we shall see.  The Egyptian Mummy announcement was also disappointing because I was hoping Mego would use Chaney Jr.'s Mexican Mummy (which sort of looks like Kharis), rather than some generic, cheap version.  The body wrap is pretty cool though.

I agree with you on the Mummy figure, it's not quite there for me but the bandages do look pretty good. I'm thinking someone will make a cool custom head for this figure and elevate it into something more special.

Yikes, I certainly hope this is a custom made figure because that looks awful. And the Headless Horseman is my most anticipated Mego from the upcoming line.

My first, second, and third thought was no. This looks worse than the prototype. At least the first one had better looking bandages. Oh, well, there's always customizing.

The jack-o'-lantern looks a little better, but the top the outfit...  Ugh.  You could have gone a lot of directions with the clothes.  I don't know why they chose this faux leather thing and the cheap-looking cape attachment.  The Scooby Doo figure is so much better:  https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/67075 (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/67075)

The Disney costume design is so simple, yet so effective, especially the way they have the cape...

Doubt my intel again, people.  It was accurate, and this is not for me. Unless it has stellar card art to save the day.

I think we all just prayed that this wasn't happening lol!

The pumpkin looks better now at least but I still don't understand the buttons being gold pen marks by the looks of it. They would;d really have to do some outstanding artwork to save this but it would be a pass for me as well. The Mummy might be a possibility but it does still look a bit too cartoony for my taste.

Oh well.....there's still the Phantom maybe.

It's not that we doubted you, Anton.  It's that we really, really hoped someone was playing a really good prank.  Unfortunately, the joke was on us.

You guys know I am kidding...right,lol? My "intel"was the same place you all get yours. Mefo forums, lol. They get all the first dirt on new releases over there. I to was hoping it was a custom. I hate the gold marker "buttons" too.

I hodge podged my own some years ago. All I did was use a Presidential monsters Kennedy outfit and body, a pair of gloved hands and pleather sleeves from CTVT, some black super hero boots, and a McFarlane Pumpkinhead Jack Skellington maybe? Sword courtesy of Wonder Woman, and I forgot where I got the axe.

The faux leather on Horseman reminds me of the one used on the Medicom 1/6 Rocketeer figures from a few years back.  The jacket was notorious for cracking and flaking; hopefully, this will not be the case with Horseman.  I have to admit that the images of these first 2 figures of the new horror wave are disappointing, but I'm hopeful we get a really nice looking version of the Phantom (maybe the EMCE/DST sculpt?).

It will be hard to beat that figure.  I think it was the best of the EMCE lot.  But, honestly, I loved all of those figures, even the generic Dracula, though his hands could have been better.
