Uhm....is this real or manipulated in some way? if its real: It's gotta be the first ever Face of the Screaming Werewolf figure ever made, lol. It also skirts Universal but still gets to use Chaney. Which makes me wonder why no one else thought of it before, lol.

Cool find. Now repaint it and make it look better.

I dunno if I want one or not. If that makes any sense, lol. The hands look like Mego POTA hands....not Wolfman or werewolf due to lack of claws. The feet are clearly an old school Wolfman style. I cannot tell if the head is an all new sculpt or a re-tooled and re-painted Emce Wolfman? What an unusual hodge podge and weird film choice.

It's another slopfest. I'll buy it if I see it in a store. The way prices are dropping on these Megos, this one should be selling for $2.29.

I mentioned the possibility of this in a previous post from one of the Mego Dracula threads: http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=32896.msg552444#msg552444 (http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=32896.msg552444#msg552444)

I think it's cool and I'll definitely get one. Face Of The Screaming Werewolf is the crappier version of La Casa Del Terror (1960), so this cheezy figure is very appropriate to represent that fun Mexi-Movie. Fans of Mexican Monsters will go nuts over this.

The more I look at this, the more I like it. Reminds me of DD's Naschy werewolves. At $15 or less, it's a bargain. Anton, you will definitely buy one. You can't pass this up. It will go with your DD werewolf collection.

Unfortunately all I have is Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Teenage Werewolf, Wolf  Megos, and Waldemar 1/6. I had to sell most of my DD Mego Werewolves off. Along with some other things. Because being a grown up sucketh at times. 8)

I am officially skipping it. He has gorilla feet. Not werewolf feet. Yup. These feet are gonna be used for another character. Possibly a mugato or some other gorilla. This thing is truly a throwback to the rack toys of the AHI days. Except this is 2018...soon to be 2019. So, I shall pass. :'(

I just watched Face of the Screaming Werewolf. Found it on You Tube. Imo, this was not a good film. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see Lon Chaney Jr playing both a Werewolf and a Mummy. I would say you really have to go out of your way to make a bad film if you and have Lon Chaney Jr playing a Werewolf and Mummy and it still is not good.

Also, why is the figure wearing a plaid flannel shirt? He wore what looked like a plain colored dress shirt in the film. I will probably still buy the figure. ;D

Kind of a figure du jour.

I would buy this in a heartbeat.

Went to Target today on the way back from a daytrip.  No Frank.  No Face of the Screaming Werewolf.

Would I buy Face of the Screaming Werewolf merchandise going forward?  Hell yeah!  Forget Universal at this point.  I wish lots more companies would give us "Classic Monster" lines with FOTS Werewolf and Mummy and Lugosi Dracula.  The only thing we actually need Uni for anymore is Creature merchandise.

I checked out our Target again today. No Drac, Frank, or Werewolf. I asked a floor worker to check the system to see if there were any in the back and that came up empty as expected.

He said the Franks weren't even sold at that store and I told him about buying one there a few days ago to which he looked totally puzzled. The Target system is clueless. The Target workers are clueless. It's amazing that Target makes it so difficult for people to buy some of their products.  ::)

Scalpers are plying their trade on the Werewolf figure. A few have sold already on evilBay for in the $40-$50 range.  ::)

At 10K units the smart play is just be patient. I'm happy to buy one at $15 or less. Even though it's cheezy-cool to match the cheapass dreckish film it represents I don't think I would give more than $15 for one. And, I don't think I'll have to.

The math doesn't seem to be on the side of patience...
1800+ Target stores...
10,000 Megos each character...
Divides to 5.5 Megos per character per store.
Not counting the stock on their .com site...
This may account for buyers not finding
bloated displays of all the characters.
There just isn't enough to go around.

I got my Dracula from a scalper... and was happy to pay them. In order to avoid the drama and sheer, unadulterated, mass chaos associated with being able to simply walk in the store and be given the honor of forking over my money for one, lol. Yay scalper, lol. Thank heavens Dracula has been the only one I wanted thus far. Except for the inevitable Carol Burnette show figure that will be coming. I would mow over a senior citizen to get that one, lol. ;) ;) ;D

That's true if you wait too long. Then they'll all be in dealers/collectors hands. I think there's a good window of time to get one at original retail or even on sale. I'm just comparing this to the Mego Drac and Frank. I ended up with 2 of each at either $14.99 or $9.99 each. Part of this has to do with Target's sloppy distribution and selling practices. It's not like they can all be snatched up quickly. Target seems to be dribbling them out due to poor design, ineptitude, or both. I'll wait for a fair deal, and if I don't get one it's not that much of an issue-- but I bet I do.

By the time they hold out enough units for online sales, I can see how they would have an average of only 2 pieces per store.

That falls right in line with what Target stocked of the Monsterville line last year.  Put one or two extra in their busiest stores, and some stores get zero.

It's amazing that Target ever has any unsold items to mark down.  (Even Tootie should sell out.)

Regarding the website, if the item is sold in the stores, then it usually ships from the actual stores.

It has now been confirmed that Target has ordered wave 4. No word nor rumour yet as to if there will be a monster much less what it might be, but my vote is for the Creature from Chabelo y Pepito contra los Monstruos. Wouldn't that be wonderful (though I doubt Mego could get away with it without Uni stepping in)?

It seems that most people are assuming that every Target store is getting the figures which doesn't seem to be the case. When I asked the floor workers to check a couple of times they came back with "this won't be stocked in this store" or, "we haven't stocked it here", even though some of the Franks showed up at that very store. If every Target store did get the figures then the Dracs and Franks would have been blown out pretty quickly instead of still dribbling in to some stores randomly. It may be just terrible distribution or Target's plan for their chaotic way of stocking, but it doesn't seem that they're being sold through every store-- maybe 2/3, 1/2, or less of the stores. I don't know any of this to be fact but it makes the most sense to explain why these things keep showing up as "not available" and then dribbling in unexpectedly.

Target is full of it.  They said they would not be getting the 8 inch.  A month later, they put out the eight inch.  They said they wouldn't be carrying Dracula at all.  A month and a few weeks later, I see a damaged Dracula on the peg.  They're FULL OF IT.  I don't believe a word they say.

Wave four should be an all monster assortment. It's the only thing selling for them. Put out cheap, cheesy, b-movie, public domain monsters. I would buy all of them ( If they don't make me jump thru hoops to get "em).

I'm in for the Werewolf!
After throwing a little bit of black paint under the eyes and on the fingernails of Frankenstein it looks a lot better and this one looks good as it is (as far as I can see).

Don't pay scalpers, just wait for it to go live on the target website.  That's how I got all of mine-- although I did see four Dracs in my local Target a few weeks later and I grabbed one of four Frankenstein's to have an extra last week (and it was $12.99!).

This figure will be desirable cheez in the future which is appropriate for the film it represents- Face Of The Screaming Werewolf (1964), cobbled together ineptly by the infamously awful Jerry Warren. I want one of these ape-footed monstrosities as well. I love classic monster cheez and weird figures so this is a cool piece of dreck in my book.  8)

I'll definitely wait it out. The Dracs and Franks are still floating around at retail or below. I bought one Frank for $9.99. Ape-Footed Werewolves will probably follow suit. I check evilBay for the heck of it and people are bidding $50-$70 for unfinished auctions for the Werewolves. Cripes, do they think the world will end before Target lists them for sale and they'll need one to take to Heaven?!  ::)
It's a cool figure but if I had to give over 20 bucks for one I would tap out right away. Interesting collecting times currently.

I can't believe this "Face of the Screaming Werewolf" Mego figure is real! But it is. They've already hit eBay and the bids are hitting $50 with 6 days still to go. I know I'll never find one on store shelves, as I've yet to see a Dracula or Frankenstein on store shelves in Louisville, and I've never even been able to order a Frankenstein on the Target website. If these monsters are the blockbusters of the line, I wonder why they aren't producing more of these and a lot less of the 70's/80's sit com figures?

And that's not the only shocking thing about these figures - https://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-NYCC-Funko-Golden-Girls-4-Pack-Figurines-Limited-Edition-/292652946304?hash=item4423799380%3Ag%3AOyQAAOSwAspbTA9s&nma=true&si=kcB1HwvvxumoHvz1w3JB3UBTi54%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-NYCC-Funko-Golden-Girls-4-Pack-Figurines-Limited-Edition-/292652946304?hash=item4423799380%3Ag%3AOyQAAOSwAspbTA9s&nma=true&si=kcB1HwvvxumoHvz1w3JB3UBTi54%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557)

o-k, so when going to Target online site, they still are not offering the Mego Frankenstein fig.
Below the featured figs. that are available, Tootie, Fonz, etc. they have the line of "RECOMMENDED ITEMS FOR YOU" listing.
Shown in this line-up (and for some time now) is the Frankenstein fig, Dracula, Gorn etc.
Click on any of these and they go to the full page listing of NOT AVAILABLE in my zip code area...though they are Recommended !...?

This thumbnail photo line adds, and subtracts these figs with such rapidity upon each log in, it has been amusing to see what absurdity is next.
How about the Mego Werewolf now joining the line, and the name below reads "Bela Lugosi as Dracula".
Click on this recommendation, and it goes to the Lugosi Dracula page.  And yes, that is Not Available in my zip code either...FUN !!

I've gotten both Dracula and Frankenstein online and in stores-- with online at Target you have to be patient and just check throughout the day.  I know Frankenstein will come up again and I'm certain the Werewolf will be there as well.

In the store-- all of the monsters were sold out when I swung by today (I only go to Target when I need something else) but on Saturday they had two Frankenstein's on the pegs in the action figure aisle.   So the monster's are definitely the top sellers of the line.  There were still plenty of Alice and Norm figures as well as The Gorn.

That is ridiculous. We shouldn't have to play this "whack-a-mole" game to buy their products. I really can't believe Target's incompetence. I thought the whole Monsterville circus was frustrating, but this takes it to another level of ineptitude.

You clearly donít shop at Target then, incompetence is giving them credit.  Second only to Wally World for poorly trained staff and operational nonsense.

My favorite experience at Wally World was when I went to buy a TV for my grandma.  She needed it to fit on a particular stand, so the feet could only be so far apart, while the screen itself could be much wider.  Found a TV that looked like it might work, but I needed to measure the feet to make sure.  Of course, it was ten feet off the ground.  I asked for a ladder to measure the feet.  The "associate" told me to go online.  I told him I didn't have that capability, and that the online measurements would most likely not feature the measurement I'm looking for.  He proceeded to argue with me for about five minutes about how the measurements were online.  I repeated again I didn't have a smart phone.  Then he said, "Oh.  Well, let me go get a ladder."  I thought it was finally over.  Then he stopped and looked at the box the TV was packaged in, positioned much closer to the ground than the display TV.  He asked, "Is this it?"  I said, "Yes."  He then proceeded to look for measurements on the box.  I told him the foot measurements would not be on the box.  But he still looked anyway.  He finally found the measurements for the screen and said, "There you go."  And, I said, "No.  I need to measure the distance between the feet."  He finally got so frustrated with me that he went back to get a ladder.  The whole process of conversing with him took about 15 minutes.  He came back out with the ladder in less than one.  I gave him my tape measure.   He went up the three steps he needed to, and proceeded to measure the screen.  I told him, "No.  You need to measure the area between the feet."  It took him a few seconds, but he finally asked, "You mean these little black plastic things on the bottom?"  I said, "Yes."  He said, "Why didn't you say so in the first place?"

Yeah, they've been going between $250 and $400 since release. It's nuts. Ironically, speaking of Target, those were a shared exclusive with Target. I lucked out and scored a set on their site at the time. I wanted them because I have fond memories of watching the show with my Grandmother as a kid and have been a fan ever since. Had no clue it would skyrocket like that.

It's funny how the odd release like this suddenly becomes the hot seller, it was the same with the Jaws figures they put out years ago, they just really took off in price although never to this level.

Yup, those too. I lucked out and found the SDCC exclusive Bruce w/Quint at TRU back in the day but never saw the individual figures. Ended up grabbing the carded set for about $18 a figure a little over a year ago. For as much crap I think Funko makes (cough Pops cough), they have put out some amazing figures that I never thought would ever see the light of day.

That SDCC Bruce is the only thing I'm missing from the collection and I may still pick it up at some point just to be complete. You did well on your carded set also as these were going for a premium at one point although I think they either produced another run of this series or it was stock that was held up as I noticed the price drop. I agree with you on the Pops as well, not quite my thing although I have seen the odd one that looks nice. I do like these 3.75" figures though and still pick them up. As for the Mego Wolfman though......no sign of him yet for me but he is one I'd like.

Stick him in a quicksand pit, convertible or open biplane, etc.

Found the Mego Werewolf today. I like it. It's a cheap, cheesy werewolf figure from an even cheaper, cheesier werewolf film (and it was only $12.99). I'll even take an ugly prostitute, if the price is low enough.

I picked him up yesterday.  Not the best werewolf in the world, for sure, but he's okay for the price.  Really, really crude sculpt and paint job, but I like the outfit.  Hope the Mummy is closer to Dracula than this.

A Mexican Mummy, more than likely.  Maybe something obscure like the Mummy from La Casa Del Terror or The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy.

They can just do Chaney as the Mummy from the same crummy butt flick the Werewolf is from. None for me thanks.

The Werewolf is included in the new Mego horror line-up. Those, I don't believe, will be at Target. There are six (including the werewolf). I think they come out in March. You can pre-order from Monsters in Motion for about $14.99.
