Post by: Sir Spooks-A-Lot on March 30, 2018, 03:31:53 PM
Well I might as well ask and try my luck, I have been trying find the Don Post Mummy Mask for a affordable price as I have been trying to recreate the Kharis costume for a convention and the mask is what I am missing I would prefer version B but either one would do.

It's tough to find them below $200.00 lately. They were limited in production, back in the day, and now are hugely sought after by collectors. I will also say, that many of these were really meant for display and are on the small size. They may not be the best for wearing.

Exactly. $200.00 is the going rate and there are Mummy B's on eBay as we speak but wearing one would be a challenge unless you have a tiny head and because of the thickness I wouldn't think it would be very comfortable. Unfortunately the only wearable Universal Mummy mask out there these days is Rubie's Karloff Imhotep. I suppose you could Kharis-fy it by painting over the right eye or even use gray putty since the eyes are sculpted in on that mask.

So how tiny are we talking about?

So how tiny are we talking about?

Masks are usually cast larger than actual heads because they shrink in the process and obviously they are meant to wear. The calendar masks started out just a shade large so that when complete they would be exactly head size, which means, as stated above, unless you have a smaller than normal head, it won't fit.
