Title: Sideshow 8" glow S2
Post by: zombiehorror on March 28, 2008, 03:47:52 PM
Can anyone confirm that Sideshow produced glow versions of the Bride, Creature & Phantom.  Does anyone have these?  Were they some kind of exclusive offer?

I was just going through Sideshow's site to see if I had all the 8" and 12" figures, since I recently cataloged all of my stuff, when I noticed these figures.  I can't find anywhere thru Google that mentions them, just Sideshow's site.  I thought I had all the 8" figures with the exception of the translucent blue Metaluna Mutant.

Here's the only image that Sideshow has of them-

They got bigger pics than that. I've never seen any of these for sale, anywhere! I wouldn't pay 60 bucks (ea.) for them, anyway!

Ah-ha!  Going on to page 2 would've been helpful for me to see those pics.  I didn't know they listed them individually since they are/were only available as a set.  I sure don't remember paying no $60 for series 1 that's for sure but that's what they show the price as.  I believe the 8" figures originally sold for $15 a piece if I'm not mistaken.

The color ones did and I guess the b/w were about that, too, but I don't remember what the S1 glow ones went for. $60 does sound outrageous!

I have never seen these.  I wonder if they were really produced.  I was keeping pretty close tabs on Sideshow around the time these would have come out.

Seems like these were announced around the time they canceled the 8" line, so I kinda think they weren't.

Fwiw, a friend of mine insists he remembers seeing the Creature on Ebay. He doesn't collect monster stuff, but likes the Creature and is (now) fanatical about glow toys so he's been kicking himself for not getting it at the time. Personally, I've never seen it either, but I only do a periodic search for it.

Some sellers call the trans green one a glow-in-the-dark. Or, maybe it was the glow LBH?

I believe I have a set of these, Sideshow use to send me EVERYTHING for free. If I do, they're buried somewhere in a box. Also, Sideshow usually doesn't keep photos of cancelled or unproduced items on their Web site, and since they still appear there I would believe they actually came out.

I have Series 1 and I paid about $20.00 for the 3. Sideshow was closing them out and I took advantage. If I would have seen these I would have gotten them. I don't have the blue Mutant but I do have the translucent green Creature.
